THEY MANUFACTURE THE STRONGEST BIOMATERIAL IN THE WORLD, EIGHT TIMES MORE RESISTANT THAN SPIDER SILK

The spider web is the strongest natural fiber known to human beings, even stronger than steel

The ultra-resistant material that they have manufactured is made of cellulose nanofibers, a structural polysaccharide in plants – it is part of the support tissues. Through a new production method, these Swedish researchers have successfully transferred the unique mechanical properties of these nanofibers to a macroscopic material – which can be seen with the naked eye, without the aid of a microscope – and very light that could be used as an alternative ecological to create the plastic that is used in the manufacture of airplanes, cars, furniture and other products. "Our new material has potential even for biomedicine," explains Söderberg in a press release published by DESI.

    1. Through many ways, but mainly at high temperatures os sometimes it can be in the forest, where the spiders live (in the trees) (CARLOS)

    1. YES!! Absolutely yes! This spider can resist to really high temperatures an also low temperatures, the same as some other spider species. (CARLOS)
